My nephew is 15 years old now and wants to get a learner's permit in Florida

Is he old enough, and what do they need to do to get a learner's permit (I guess they'll need to pass some tests?)

I couldn't get a proper answer online so I'd appreciate any help :-D

Hey there, congrats on your nephew turning 15!

As far as I'm aware, in Florida, if they want to get a learner's permit (at 15, specifically), your nephew has to pass the Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course, pass a vision and hearing test, and then pass the Class E Knowledge Exam.

That last one is basically the same as the written knowledge test elsewhere, teaching you about road signs and traffic laws. Your nephew will also have to provide some paperwork, but once he has a permit, your nephew can basically practice driving around with a licensed driver aged 21 or older (could be you!) in the front passenger seat.

I hope that helps :-)
