Re: how much is the fine for a speeding ticket (California?)
Hi there, Zack here from Online DMV, sorry to hear that you got a speeding ticket!
As far as I'm aware, in California, the actual fines will vary based on how much you exceed the speed limit. It starts from around $35 if you only go slightly over the speed limit. However, if you're speeding way too much, the fines will definitely go up from there, and you might also get points on your driving record.
You asked about some other common violations that drivers normally get in California too, right? There's far too many to list down here, but aside from speeding, here are the top 3:
1) running a red light - $500 + points on your license
2) using a phone while driving - $20 (just for the first offense, but it goes up from there) + points on your license
3) driving under influence - up to $1,000 + license suspension + (possible) jail time
I hope that answers your question, and while you're at it, make sure you settle that speeding ticket of yours ASAP
